Engage
CVJC is committed to building a new vision for local and regional collaborative reporting.
We invite you to join.
As such, the Collaborative launches with an invitation to investors, partners, and existing media entities to reimagine the core value of journalism in the Central Valley: its ability to serve as the voice of communities and sustainability through the communities being served.
To Existing Central Valley Media
You are our aspirational network of collaborators.
Central Valley Journalism Collaborative is engaged with Everyday Impact Consulting to help perform a landscape analysis of the region, with particular emphasis on non-traditional media and trusted community organizations. We are committed to serving the community and helping those that deliver non-English and informal news.
We welcome engagement; do not hesitate to email us at info@cvlocaljournalism.org.
To Partners
Do you believe in the critical importance of local/regional reporting for civic engagement and an accountable democracy? If you support fair representation in the media and align with our vision to uplift racial equity, echo diverse voices, and reinforce local free press in the Central Valley, please consider what contributions you could make towards the movement. Together, we can align our shared values, vision, and capacity for a greater reporting impact.
CVJC will be intentional in igniting local reporting, restoring independent news, and helping to defeat the spread of mis/disinformation. It will seek local news projects and reporters from the field to meet this mission. Through grantmaking, leadership, partnership, and convening power, CVJC seeks to impact the news landscape in the Central Valley.
To Investors
The JBMF’s investment comes at the genesis of Central Valley Journalism Collaborative, but sustainability can only be achieved through increased investment, traditional or philanthropic. Please join us in this effort so the richness of the Valley’s cultural, social, and economic fabric can be sustained through local journalism.
Our team can deliver a structure that meets your goals for participation and financial return. We are not pursuing a single investment solution at this time, given the unique range of existing contributors, tax incentives, and matching funds already in place. There is a pathway to profitable local/regional news that is not dependent on the extractive methods of hedge funds. Contact us for more details at info@cvlocaljournalism.org.
